Brassai

Brassai was a hungarian photographer who rose to fame in the 20th century in france. Most of his photographs were between the world wars. He shot graffiti, street life, self-portraits, night time, just about anything you could think of.

to me his photos show a since of simplicity in the world around us. He took our everyday things and surroundings and brought beauty to them.  Brassai's photos have this type of texture and look to them that makes you want to study the photos more to see if you missed anything in the photograph.

2. Don't overlook small objects and detail
3.simple occurrences can be made more interesting with a little creative thinking

Diane Arbus

Norman Mailer said, “Giving a camera to Diane Arbus is like putting a live grenade in the hands of a child.” Her photographs are shocking, catching subjects in an unmasked moment, whether they were of famous writers and actors or transvestites. In this style, Arbus teaches a lesson about not aiming to capture the surface of a subject, but rather, working to reveal the subject’s true self through art.

Man Ray

Man Ray became famous for his many “rayographs” which were his exploration into photograms. He experimented with the light exposure and how long certain objects would get light compare to others, a system comparable to the manipulation of exposure on modern day digital cameras
